Jared Goulette, center, talks about his vision of painting a giant mural on the wall opposite the one he just finished, background, in a parking lot on Main Street in Lewiston. The Portland-based artist worked with the Downtown Lewiston Association to get the project approved. He told three members Saturday morning how much easier the process was in Portland, where he has done over 20 with little oversight, in contrast to the process to get approval in Lewiston that nearly halted the project on several occasions. Association members who came to see the artist off are, from left, Linda Scott, Sandy Marquis, and Michael Dostie, far right. They also looked down Main Street and talked about the plans for another, bigger one, on the side of the former Pedro O’Hara’s on Main Street. Russ Dillingham/Sun Journal
