Over 60 and need a ride? To a medical appointment? To run errands? To attend a social event? To attend an exercise class? To attend church?  Or do you know someone who does? AFCI’s N2N (Neighbor-to-Neighbor) Transportation Program can help. Our drivers are eager to be out on the roads again and connecting with you. Simply call AFCI at 207-824-4444 to request a ride (at least three days ahead), leave a message, and we’ll return your call to make arrangements. And if you’re a Bethel library member, we can deliver your books as well.

How about the mural art on The Gem Theater? Pretty impressive, isn’t it? Thanks to the Bethel Area Arts and Music Program, the SAD 44 School System, and Portland mural artist, Ryan Adams, it’s fun and colorfully represents connections within our community.

Have you been to the Mahoosuc Land Trust’s Valentine Farm lately? There’s lots going on; find it at https://www.mahoosuc.org/events-calendar/. A special event occurs at 1 p.m. on Aug. 15: fun and food for the family, the pollinator garden, the Birding Trail — and you can try to find monarch butterflies, maybe even help tag one!

The next community supper is Wednesday, July 28, 4:30-6 p.m. at the Bethel Alliance Church.

The Bethel Historical Society is having a summer fundraising auction/raffle throughout the month of July. The funds raised will go toward maintaining and expanding Their collections, and anyone who participates (by buying a raffle ticket or placing an auction bid) is eligible to sign up for a “behind the scenes” tour of the MBHS collections, archives, research library, etc. For more information or to find out about other summer activities with the BHS: https://bethelhistorical.org/2021-raffle-and-auction/

Bethel resident Kate Goldberg, a SNAP educator, will present a series of four free classes on preparing healthy foods on a limited budget from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, July 20 and 27, and Aug. 3 and 10. Recipe demonstrations, tastings, and a colorful cookbook provided. For more information: Kate@healthyoxfordhills.org or 364-7408.
