Another election season has begun in the Twin Cities, with nomination papers available for all seats for the November balloting.
In Lewiston and Auburn, municipal elections are held every two years for the City Council, School Committee and mayor.
Nomination papers became available Friday in Auburn and on Tuesday in Lewiston, marking the unofficial start to the municipal election season.

One notable exception is Lewiston Mayor Mark Cayer, who announced last month that he is not running for re-election. Cayer came into office in 2020, and said the combination of the pandemic and time demand impacting his business was the reason for his decision.
In Auburn, Mayor Jason Levesque said he is still undecided about seeking a third term, but will likely be making an announcement regarding his decision next week.
The election is Tuesday, Nov. 2.
