Unlike the 2020 graduation, at which graduates sat inside their cars and received their diplomas at a "drive-up ceremony," the Class of 2021 sat together on Caldwell Field, with an audience filled with family members, teachers and administrators.
The 66 students making up Mountain Valley High School's graduating class of 2021 received their diplomas Thursday at Hosmer Field. Senior Colby Volkernick praised the class's resiliency and ability adapt to the quarantines and other changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, saying, "We depended on one another to make it through the odd year that we had."
The 134 students from Leavitt Area High School's graduating class of 2021 were celebrated for how they handled living during the COVID-19 pandemic during Sunday's ceremony at the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport.
The students, like so many others around the nation and world, finished their high school careers under the strange, often-unpredictable restrictions of a global pandemic.
