Five different winners — and the weather — have starred in the first four weeks of the Tabers Mini Golf Weekly League presented by Maine Mini Golf Tour at Tabers Lakeside Stand in Auburn.

The league, which is open each week to players of all ages and abilities, began last summer at the picturesque venue alongside Lake Auburn, and has expanded to a 15-week program this summer.

On Wednesday, May 19, Justin Pelletier shot a blistering 37 in his first round and held on for a one-shot victory (81-82) over Richard Patrie, who was consistent with rounds of 40 and 42. The win — and the low round — helped Pelletier sneak into first place overall for the season with a per-round average of 43.

On Pelletier’s heels in the overall standings is Dan Brochu with a 43.17 average. Brochu won Week 2 by one stroke over Jordy Knoren. Knoren is in third overall by stroke average at 43.25.

Kyle Labrecque, following up his win in the Spring Fling tournament, won Week 1 in the rain to take the early overall lead. He sits fourth at 43.83.

The weather won in Week 2, canceling the weekly event.

In the junior division, last season’s champion, Jackson Corey, fired a 105 in his first week of competition this year to win by 11 over Hayden Avery on Wednesday, May 19.

Rafael Hargreaves was the Week 3 junior winner.

With the number of women participating in the league climbing, Week 4 saw the first awarding of the Hometown Nutrition & Energy prize for best finisher among the women competing. That prize went to Amanda Auger, who finished under 100 for the first time with a two-round total of 98.

Heritier Nosso earned the hole-in-one prize, a gift card to Dunkin’.

The Tabers Weekly League is open to players of all ages, and runs every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. For more information, or to sign up in advance to play in any of the weekly events, follow Maine Mini Golf Tour on Facebook, or email Maine Mini Golf Tour at maineminigolf@gmail.com.
