LEWISTON — After receiving new Department of Education guidelines in the past week, Lewiston High School has modified the structure of Senior Night on Friday at the high school, according a letter to parents and students.

The event will follow current state and local COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines.

Seniors will arrive at the school at 7:30 p.m. for a Parade of Graduates at 8 p.m. in their caps and gowns. Family, friends, staff and the community are welcome to stand or sit on the sidewalks of the school grounds. The parade will start at the gym parking lot toward East Avenue, use the sidewalk on East Avenue to connect back to the tennis courts, then proceed down the school access road to the gym. No parents or spectators will be allowed on East Avenue.

The Senior Awards Recognition and Senior Slideshow will begin at 8:30 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. The Senior Trip “In A Box” is at 9:45 p.m.

Spectators and participants are asked to be aware of social distancing when necessary, and it’s recommended that all spectators and participants wear masks — if they have not been fully vaccinated.

After the Parade of Graduates, seniors will be asked to put their caps and gowns away in their vehicles, or tag and place them on the outside coat rack.

The football field bleachers are reserved for spectator seating, and seniors will sit in chairs on the turf for the Senior Recognition and Senior Slideshow.

Throughout the Senior Recognition, the Class of 2021 will raffle off items in lieu of Project Graduation, including Airpod Pros, TVs, a mini fridge.

Following the fireworks, seniors can grab their Senior Trip In a Box on the way out, and a senior lawn sign  — if they haven’t already done so at cap and gown distribution.

If an individual is in quarantine, they will not be allowed to attend Senior Night.
