Aleeya McKay, center, focuses Tuesday on the book third-grade teacher Paula Rousseau is reading on Dr. Seuss’ birthday at Sherwood Heights Elementary School in Auburn. Rousseau read “What Pet Should I Get” and based various lessons around children’s author Theodor Seuss Geisel. “There is something about his magic,” Rousseau said about Dr. Seuss. “It doesn’t matter how old they are, they all seem to love Dr. Seuss.” Hallways were decorated with Dr. Seuss-related artwork and the school librarian, Kiernan Majerus-Collins, read Dr. Seuss books to students throughout the past week. “It’s great to expose the kids to such a beloved children’s author,” Majerus-Collins said. “The love for these books started with their parents and their grandparents,” he said.
