“I’ve had a lot of great players and great coaches and great a ADs and family support to be able to get there, but I think it just shows — you know … the players in the program, the work that they put in, put me in a situation to receive, you know, such an honor,” Adams, who coached the Red Eddies to state titles in 2018 and 2020, said. “I mean, you don’t get into coaching thinking that it’s going happen.”

Adams started coaching at Edward Little 20 years ago. He said the milestone snuck up on him.

“I think it was probably last year, some of the boys were kind of talking about, ‘You must be close,’ and some people kind of said some things about where (the milestone may take place),” Adams said. “But I wasn’t really sure of (how many wins I had). Some places recognized KVAC championship games as as career wins, and some places don’t.”

In Tuesday’s game, RJ Nichols drained five 3-pointers and led Edward Little with 29 points, while John Shea chipped in 11 points.

Luke Gabloff scored 13 points for Greely.
