AUBURN — Marius Morneau scored twice to help Edward Little remain unbeaten with a 5-3 boys hockey victory over Falmouth at Norway Savings Bank Arena late Thursday.
Morneau scored the first two goals of the game, 3:14 and 5:38 into the first half. The second goal started a flurry of four goals in 2 minutes, 34 seconds. Falmouth’s Aaron Higgins scored 12 seconds after Morneau’s second tally. Edward Little’s Wes Clements then netted a shorthanded goal at 6:51 for a 3-1 Eddies lead, and Falmouth’s Mitch Ham scored at the 7:12 mark.
Keegan Moon added a goal later in the second half for the Red Eddies (4-0), and then Edward Little’s Jack Keefe and Falmouth’s Owen Drummery scored in the final 1:40 of the second half.
Clements and Keefe each had an assist for the Red Eddies. Higgins set up two goals for the Yachtsmen, and Drummery, Ham and Shawn McDonald had one assist apiece.
Edward Little goalie Gage Ducharme stopped 21 of the 24 shots he faced, while Falmouth netminder Chase Baven made 22 saves on 27 shots.
