LIVERMORE — Selectpersons have voted to pay Brad Buzzell $150 per storm to clear the town’s section of the Androscoggin River Bridge sidewalk.
Previously, Buzzell had been paid $90 per storm to clear the sidewalk. He requested the increase for this winter, after the town had set its budget for the year.
Selectpersons had discussed the issue several times, but took no action while waiting for additional information.
“Brad was out today,” Aaron Miller, administrative assistant to the selectpersons said. “The thought was, we have a nice clean slate, let’s keep it that way. I made an executive decision there.”
Selectpersons Brett Deyling, Benjamin Guild and Scott Richmond were all in favor of the increase, which was approved Feb. 16. Selectpersons Mark Chretien and Tracey Martin were absent.
Selectpersons also set dates to review the proposed fiscal year 2021-22 budget with the Budget Committee. Meetings are scheduled Mondays, March 8, 15 and 22.
In other business, Miller requested a decision on the town meeting date be made by April 13. The referendum process, if used, has several procedural steps, he said.
Deyling said he is opposed to a town meeting where voters go to the polls.
Guild said all five selectpersons should be present to decide the date.
