LEWISTON — Fire officials said an electrical problem caused Wednesday’s fire at a marijuana dispensary at 44 Strawberry Ave.
Firefighters cut a hole in the roof of the building in an empty warehouse area at the back of the building, said Strawberry Fields Apothecary manager Darsi Simonds.
The fire caused “very little” damage in a 15-square-foot section near a water tank, she said, because the building is made from concrete and steel.
The business was interrupted for most of the day because power was shut down, she said.
After visits from fire and electrical inspectors, Central Maine Power Co. restored service Wednesday afternoon, Simonds said.
The store and grow rooms in the building were not damaged, she said.
“It was contained pretty quick,” she said.
Fire officials said there were no injuries.
A waste removal worker who empties the dumpster at the building noticed smoke and called the business to alert employees, she said.
