TURNER — A barn in Turner was badly damaged by fire Sunday morning.
The fire at 314 County Road, reported at about 7:30 a.m., was caused by a heat lamp used for chickens, according to Chief Nathan Guptill of the Turner Fire Department.
The fire spread up the wall and destroyed all the hay in the loft, causing severe damage in the upper portion of the structure.
Firefighters brought the flames under control in about an hour, according to Guptill.
Despite the damage, Guptill said the barn, near Crystal Lake, is still usable.
