Take-out bean supper to benefit LACO
DURHAM — Acacia Lodge, Rte. 136, is sponsoring a take-out baked bean supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 20, with all proceeds going to Lisbon Area Christian Outreach. It will be the usual supper with two kinds of beans, hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw, chop suey and cookies. The lodge will accept donations for the supper and will deliver to the car.
King Foundation donates to Morse Library
GREENE — Morse Library has reopened its doors and also announces that the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation has donated $9,000 to the library for the creation of a MakerSpace, which will add technology and craft items to the library’s collection. Additionally, some of the funds will allow for author visits and other programs, once the community can gather safely again.
The Summer Reading program is open to all ages. Readers may log their books using a program called Beanstack. Local residents can register for the program at https://jammlibrary.beanstack.org/reader365.
