Music students to showcase progress
RANGELEY — The Rangeley Friends of the Arts will host a Student Music Recital at the RFA Lakeside Theater at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5. Students taking private lessons locally, as well as those students participating in the CASA Band, will showcase their progress this year.
Admission is free but at-will donations will be accepted.
The RFA financially supports each student taking private lessons locally in music through their Student Lessons Program. The CASA Band is free for any interested student grade five to 12. For more information on the RFA and the programs, visit www.rangeleyarts.org.
Lithuanian Heritage Club to meet
RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will meet at noon Wednesday, June 5, at Sam’s Italian Shop on Rte. 2. People are welcome to attend and share stories of their Lithuanian heritage.
Christmas tree farms topic of workshop
PARIS — Learn how to start a Christmas tree farm at a workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, June 7, cohosted by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Oxford County, the Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Maine Christmas Tree Association and Maine Woodland Owners.
Len Price, owner of Nutkin Knoll Farm in Newburgh, will discuss sourcing, planting and maintaining Christmas trees. The class will be held at Eastern Slope Farm, 275 Mt. Mica Road, South Paris.

Texas Hold’em at Jackson-Silver Post
LOCKE MILLS — A Texas Hold’em will be held Saturday, June 8, at Jackson-Silver Post 68, American Legion, 595 Gore Road. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and games will begin at 1 p.m.

Legion to hold dime bingo
DIXFIELD — The American Legion Post 100 has changed nickel bingo to dime bingo from 6 to 9 p.m. every Monday and Friday.
Food will be available 5 to 6 p.m.
Skeet shooting at fish and game
WATERFORD — Recreational skeet shooting is held at 1 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. Thursdays at the Waterford Fish & Game Association, Route 118.
The public is welcome and should bring a shotgun and ammo. The cost is $3 a round of 25 targets.

Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting
DIXFIELD — The American Legion Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on the first Sunday of the month.
Senior fellowship group to meet Thursdays
LOVELL — The Gathering Place, a senior fellowship group, meets Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lovell United Church of Christ, 1174 Main St.
Meetings are free and open to any senior who wishes to drop in. Folks attending the meetings should bring their own lunch. Coffee, tea and snacks are provided. A hot meal is provided on the first Thursday of each month.

Rumford Senior Center Nickel Bingo
PERU — The Rumford Senior Center is open for sign-ups or other business from 9 to 11 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
