Former President Taft has accepted an invitation to speak in New York next Tuesday night on the same platform with President Wilson. The telegraphed acceptance by Mr. Taft emphasized his desire to help make clear to the country the non-partisan character of the League to enforce peace.
 
50 years ago: 1969
Auburn Recreation Department Director Norris E. Ingersoll says there is a need for more voices for the adult choral concert in Auburn. A concert is planned for mid-April and the choral group needs to be enlarged for the occasion. The society meets at 7 p.m., Sundays at the First Universalist Church in Auburn.
25 years ago: 1994
 
Junior Achievement of Androscoggin  County held its 17th annual trade fair at the Auburn Mall recently. Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization sponsored by the business community, drawing its membership from four area high schools. Working with their advisers, JA members charter and operate companies that manufacture a wide variety of products. The Auburn Mall Trade Fair grants the companies the opportunity to sell their products.
