Former Mt. Blue football coach Nate Quirion has joined the staff of the Husson University football program, new Husson head coach Nat Clark announced Wednesday via a press release.

Quirion spent the past two seasons at the helm of the Mt. Blue program after coming over from Husson. The Cougars went 5-12 under Quirion, who will once again coach the Eagles’ running backs.

Quirion first landed at Husson in 2007 after spending five years as an assistant at Messalonskee. His first stint at Husson lasted two seasons, then he spent two years as an assistant at Bangor and three more at Lawrence. He returned to Husson in 2014, where he stayed for three years before taking over the Mt. Blue program from Jim Aylward.

Clark was a fellow Husson assistant under former Eagles head coach Gabby Price during both of Quirion’s previous stints.

The Eagles’ top three rushers in program history all spent time working with Quirion. Husson Sports Hall of Famers Justin Lindie and Julius Williams were there during his first stint, and all-time leading rusher John Smith racked up yards during Quirion’s previous stay.
