BIDDEFORD — Valeri Rykov had two goals and an assist as the L/A Nordiques defeated the Maine Wild 4-2 Saturday night.

Rykov opened the scoring at the 4:05 mark of the opening period before Cole Ouellette scored with 3:23 remaining in the frame off an assist by Rykov.

Rykov scored the only goal in the second period at the 15:20 mark.

The Wild made a bit of a come back in the third period when Mathieu Nadeau and Chandler Bilodeau scored back-to-back goals in a 48-second span.

Andrew McCormick capped the scoring off for the Nordiques with 5:01 to go.

Jason St. Pierre made 13 saves in the victory, while Nick Vardon made 54 saves for the Wild.
