Auburn resident Janet Laird-Lagassee has been awarded the Guild of Boston Artists award for excellence in realism in the New England Watercolor Society Signature Members Show for her painting, “Utilitarian Wood.” On view through March 3 at the Guild of Boston Artists, 162 Newbury Street, Boston, the show features the work of 99 of the region’s finest watercolorists. As part of the exhibit, gallery talks and demonstrations will be given by signature members on Saturdays and Sundays respectively at 1 p.m. Gallery hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, and is closed Mondays.
