BATH — Director Mort Achter has assembled an all-star cast of local actors for his production of Neil Simon’s comedy hit, “Plaza Suite” in the Annex of Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washington St.

Performances are at: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22 and 23; Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2; and 2 p.m. Sundays, Feb. 24 and March 3.

“Plaza Suite” is filled with relationships that explore the frictions of urban living and the agonizing conflicts of family intimacy. Hilarity abounds in this portrait of three couples successively occupying a suite at the Plaza Hotel. The scenes include a suburban couple who take the suite while their house is being painted and it turns out to be the one in which they honeymooned 23 years earlier.

This wry tale of marriage in tatters is followed by the exploits of a Hollywood producer who, after three marriages, is looking for a little sexual diversion. He calls a childhood sweetheart who over the past 15 years has idolized him from afar and is now more than the match he bargained for.

The last couple is a mother and father fighting about the best way to get their daughter out of the bathroom and down to the ballroom where her guests await her.

Achter assembled separate casts to portray the roles within each of the hilarious stories. The cast includes Shirley Bernier as Norma, Christina Boyington as Muriel, Dennis Crews as Jesse, Hope Horton as Jean/Mimsey, Michael Hudson as bellhop/Borden, Tamara Lilly as Karen, Michael Millett as Sam and Thomas Watson as Roy/producer.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. They are available at chocolatechurcharts.org or by calling the box office 207-442-8455.
