100 years ago: 1919

Forty members of the Sprague Club met recently at Abou Ben Adhem Hall and listened to the descriptions that two local men, Albion W. Cobb, Gun Captain of Auburn and Lieutenant John McDonough of Lewiston, gave of their experiences overseas. Capt. Cobb has been decorated with the French Croix de Guerre for the notable part he played in a rescue off the coast of France. Lt. McDonough was at Chateau-Thierry with the 26th division and has seen some real fighting.

50 years ago: 1969

A Mother-Daughter Banquet will be held at the South Auburn Baptist Church at 6:30 Saturday evening. After the meal, a program will be presented, and there will be prizes for the oldest mother present, the youngest mother, the mother with the most daughters, the mother with the youngest daughter, and other classifications.

25 years ago: 1994
