HALLOWELL — The board of the Maine Justice Foundation announces that Grady Burns has been elected as the next law student member.

The foundation, formerly the Maine Bar Foundation, is the state’s leading funder of civil legal aid for poor and vulnerable Mainers.

Burns is a 2013 summa cum laude graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a bachelor’s degree in education. He has worked as a legal assistant at Tarbell and Brodich in Auburn and as a summer legal clerk at Gosselin and Dubord in Lewiston.

He has served as an Auburn City councilor at-large and as chairman of the Economic and Community Development Committee. He was nominated for Uplift L-A’s 2017 “40 under 40.” He is a 2018-2019 teaching fellow and has been accepted to the Maine Law Review.
