A new bill aims to change the slogan on Maine license plates from “Vacationland” to “Staycationland.”

The bill called ” An Act to Rebrand Maine’s License Plate Slogan from “Vacationland” to “Staycationland” is sponsored by Representative Kent Ackley (I), who represents District 82.

A “staycation” is when you stay home or in your local area.

The bill has been referred to the Transportation Committee.
