LEWISTON — The Public Theatre is seeking volunteers for behind-the-scenes work on upcoming productions and for its silent auction in March.
Responsible people of any age who have time and interest in working backstage, or learning how to be a light or soundboard operator on a production will be considered. The positions do not require high technical skills, just focus, curiosity and intelligence.
All positions come with a small stipend.
The time commitment spans two weeks, from technical/dress rehearsal to closing performance. The dates are: Jan. 20-Feb. 3 for “Human Error;” March 10-24 for “A Doll’s House, Part 2;” April 28-May 12 for “Fireflies;” and June 16-30 for “Grease.”
The theater is at 13 Maple St.
Those interested should email info@thepublictheatre.org.
Volunteers for the annual silent auction are needed for short commitments beginning in March to help pick up and solicit items. There is no cold-calling involved.
Volunteers can earn free tickets to The Public Theatre by posting posters on established, longtime routes in Greene, Leeds, Poland and Portland.
