LISBON — DJ Douglass drained seven 3-pointers and Lisbon doubled up Carrabec 70-35 in an MVC boys’ basketball game Monday.
Douglass finished with a game-high 28 points for the Greyhounds (6-4), and Owen Fish had 11.
Nikolas Dube led the Cobras (0-10) with 13 points.
Buckfield 63, Greater Portland Christian 13
BUCKFIELD — Host Buckfield answered any questions about who was going to win Monday’s game against Greater Portland Christian by the end of the first quarter. The Bucks jumped out to a 17-0 lead and coasted to a 63-13 win in boys’ basketball action.
Tyler Gammons led the Bucks (3-7) with 23 points, while Hunter White added 10. Buckfield had 10 different players score.
Caulin Patterson (seven points) and Christian Patterson (six) were the only scorers for the Lions (0-5).
Monmouth 83, Telstar 23
MONMOUTH — Host Monmouth Academy got its offense in gear right from the start, scoring at least 20 points in each of the first three quarters to throttle its way to an 83-23 victory over Telstar in an MVC Class C South boys’ basketball game Monday.
Connor Davies scored 18 and Gabe Martin 17 for the Mustangs (7-3), while Ben Brooks also hit double-digits with 10.
Davin Mason paced the Rebels (0-10) with 12 points.
Poland 62, NYA 42
YARMOUTH — The Knights (3-8) used a 32-17 second half advantage to defeat the Panthers (5-4) in Yarmouth.
Gage Bachelder scored 17 points and hit two 3-pointers to lead Poland. Jay Hawkes added 15 points, with 13 coming in the second half.
Te’Andre King scored 16 points for North Yarmouth Academy.
Girls’ basketball
Monmouth 57, Telstar 25
BETHEL — Katie Harris led a balanced Monmouth Academy attack, and the Mustangs dominated the middle quarters to run away from host Telstar 57-25 in an MVC Class C South girls’ basketball game Monday.
Harris paced the Mustangs (8-3) with 16 points, while Emma Johnson also hit double-digits with 10. Kaeti Butterfield and Emma Johnson both had eight, and Julia Johnson seven for Monmouth, which out-scored Telstar 36-9 across the second and third quarters after leading just 10-5 at the end of the first.
Luci Rothwell led the Rebels (2-10) with 16 points.
Carrabec 42, Lisbon 30
NORTH ANSON — Freshman Cheyenne Cahill’s 24 points powered the Cobras to the MVC win.
Brooke Welch added eight points for Carrabec (3-9).
Carly Drischler paced Lisbon (1-9) with 12 points.
Boys’ hockey
Brunswick 6, Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain 0
BRUNSWICK — Jacob Doring had a hand in all six Dragons’ goals, posting four goals and two assists in the Class B South win at Sid Watson Arena in Brunswick.
Jack St. Pierre scored two goals and assisted on two others for Brunswick (6-4-0), while Spencer Marquis needed only three saves to record the shutout in goal for the Dragons.
Will Hays made 13 saves for Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain (0-8-0).
Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble 4, Cony/Monmouth/Hall-Dale 2
DOVER, NEW HAMPSHIRE — Cooper Ross and Jarid Tomblin scored two late goals to lift Marshwood/Traip/Noble/Sanford (3-6) over Cony/Monmouth (3-6) in Dover, New Hampshire.
Trailing 2-1, Cony tied it up 2:45 into the third period on a score by Joe Arps. Marshwood recorded the winning goal on Cooper Ross’s second score 4:33 into the third. Jarid Tomblin added an empty net score for Marshwood with 21 seconds remaining.
Austin Ledger recorded 26 saves for Marswhood, and Matty Shea stopped 24 shots for Cony.
Girls’ hockey
Greely/Gray-New Gloucester 8, Brunswick 2
BRUNSWICK — Camilla Lattanzi and Madison Pelletier scored two goals apiece, and Jayme Morrison added a goal and two assists for the Rangers, who did all their scoring in the first period of an 8-2 girls’ hockey victory over Brunswick at Sid Watson Arena on Monday.
Lattanzi also notched an assist for the Rangers (5-8), who also got goals from Kerry Roberts, Linnea Koivisto and Audrey Flynn.
Greta White scored both goals for the Dragons (1-12-1), who got eight saves in goal from Ainsley Harrower. Zahira McLean stopped 16 of 18 shots for Greely/Gray-New Gloucester.
Women’s basketball
CMCC 100, PSU-Scranton 56
SCRANTON, Penn. — Brooke Reynolds scored her 1,000th career point and Kristen Huntress led an efficient shooting attack in Central Maine CC’s 100-56 victory over Penn State-Scranton in women’s college basketball action Monday.
Reynolds scored 12 points to reach her scoring milestone, while Huntress went 6 for 8 from 3-point range to co-lead the Mustangs (13-2) with 18 points. Alex Bessey made four 3s of her own to equal Huntress’ output.
As a team, the Mustangs shot 55 percent overall, 48 percent from 3-point range and 73 percent (11 of 15) from the free-throw line.
Jenna Pacella led all scorers with 20 points, and Danielle Powell pitched in with 14 for the Nittany Lions (5-8).
