True North Theatre is thrilled to announce its fifth production with “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” written by Tennessee Williams and directed by Angela Bonacasa.

Tennessee Williams’ personal favorite of his works, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” is the 1955 Pulitzer Prize winning story of a Southern family in crisis. The play focuses on favorite son Brick Pollitt, his wife Maggie, and their interactions with Brick’s family over the course of one evening’s gathering at the family estate in the Mississippi Delta. Family patriarch Big Daddy Pollitt is turning sixty-five and celebrating a clean bill of health after a cancer scare. But the true diagnosis has been kept from Big Daddy and Big Mama. Throughout the course of the play, it becomes clear that the Pollitt family has become a victim of its own constructed web of deceit and “mendacity.”
