Dirgo offensive lineman Jacob True has been named to the U.S. Under-18 Select Team will play Panama in International Bowl on Friday, January 11, 2019 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas which is the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
U.S National Team alums include players like Jameis Winston (Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback), Todd Gurley (Los Angeles Rams running back) and Tyrann Mathieu (Houston Texans safety).
Jake is really excited for this opportunity of a lifetime. Jacob hopes to play college football and this experience will give him the chance to meet and talk with many college coaches.
The cost for this week long adventure from January 7-11 will be close to $2500 for lodging, plane tickets, rental car and equipment. Jacob has worked hard to earn $2000 so far by cashing in his savings bond, doing bottle drives, doing construction work with a friend’s family and selling over 80 dozen peanut butter balls.
If you would like to help Jacob get to Texas there are several ways to donate. You can drop off bottles to the Mexico Bottle depot and say they are for Jacob True’s account. You can call Jacob to pick up your recyclables, Jacob is available to work, or you can purchase homemade Peanut butter balls for $5 a dozen. Please contact Jacob True at 418-7977, by Donations can be sent also to PO Box #268, Peru, ME 04290.
