FARMINGTON — Origin USA is expanding into the former Hammond Lumber Co. site in Wilton and adding 25 or more jobs, President Pete Roberts told Mainebiz on Friday.
He said the current 20,000-square-foot manufacturing plant at 125 High St. in Farmington will expand to add denim and leather products, while “the new Wilton facility is strictly for our nutritional division, Origin Labs,” according to Mainebiz.
Attempts to reach Roberts on Friday were unsuccessful.
The company has been in a growth mode, last year celebrating a move from a 6,000-square-foot facility in Industry into the Farmington space.
The new site in Wilton has two buildings on nearly 7 acres on Route 2.
Origin USA and Origin Labs have 40 employees.
Origin USA specializes in martial arts gear, making “field to finish” active-wear — the cotton comes from Tennessee and material is woven, cut and sewn in Maine, according to a news release last year.
Origin Labs makes protein mixes and supplements.
Last year, Origin merged with Jocko Industries and invested in 200 additional sewing machines.
