ANSWER: Ugh! I know this feeling. My grandchildren seem to leave a trail of their stuff far and wide. Baseball mitts, winter gloves, sneakers, books … it’s frustrating. Since kids often have the same things because parents shop at the same stores, a mistake of ownership can be easily made. Keep checking the school’s lost and found and let your granddaughter’s teacher as well as the school secretary know this item is among the missing. If the school has a newsletter and website, this is also a good way to get the word out!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Freddie Hart, the country western singer, died not too long ago. Could you tell me his age and when he passed away?

ANSWER: Freddie died on Oct. 27, 2018 of pneumonia. He was three months shy of his 92nd birthday. He was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and is best known for his song “Easy Loving” which was released in 1970 and went on to be No. 1 on the country music charts for three weeks and was a solid gold hit, selling over a million copies and earning Freddie several top awards.

The performer’s successful career included many major hits on the country music, pop and easy listening charts. Later in life, he wrote and recorded many gospel tunes and toured the U.S. and Europe right up until just a few months before he passed away.
