LEWISTON — A woman was in the the hospital with minor injuries after accidentally shooting herself at a private club on Sabattus Street late Saturday afternoon.

Police said they responded to the Carlton Club at 25 Sabattus St. at around 4:40 p.m. The victim suffered minor injuries, and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, police said.

Police Chief Brian O’Malley said he could not comment on the criminal investigation. No further information was available Saturday night.
