DEAR SUN SPOTS: It wasn’t too long ago you were right there with Tommy’s team to support our need for blue spruce and fir boughs as well as volunteers to make kitty shelters. Sun Spots did an outstanding job supporting Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends. Thank you for this kindness and compassion for Tommy’s babies.

Today I’m reaching out again for help with Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends Christmas Bake Sale and Bottle Drive that will be held Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 22 and 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the old office at Sabattus Street Self Storage, 1434 Sabattus St. in Lewiston.

It’s been years since our Christmas event was hosted inside and I’m grateful that a business donated space so we could hold this annual event indoors. I’ve stood outside for many years in bad weather hosting our fundraiser. Our needs remain the same and we’re desperate to raise funds to support the much-needed rebuilding of all Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends colonies and to help with the cost of medical care for our kitties. We’re looking for bakers and bottle donations. We also welcome any financial donations. This goes a long way to help us continue to save the lives of feral colonies.

For the past 40 years, we’ve been on a mission to save kitties’ lives and with your help and support, Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends can continue on. Thank you so much for your generosity. For more information, please contact me at normblais39@yahoo.com. Donations are always appreciated and can be sent to Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends, P. O. Box 274, Greene, ME 04236 or made through PayPal at http://tommysferalfelinefriends.com/donate/.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have the old Santa Claus that was in front of Benoit’s Clothing Store back in the day. The paint is starting to deteriorate. Do you know of anyone who could restore this before it gets too bad?

— Rachel, Greene

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a small “resting deer” yard ornament made from cement, I think. It needs to be sanded and repainted. Do you know of anyone who does this?

— No name, Turner

ANSWER: I know there has got to be a clever person out in Sun Spots Land who could make the Santa and deer look good as new. These both sound like treasures and I hope they can be restored to their former glory soon. Readers, please help these two people out. I will add any recommendations to the Rolodex!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you know anyone who repairs chair seats? I’ve had these fixed before but they haven’t held up.

— No name, no town

ANSWER: You don’t say what kind of chairs you have but my first thought is for you to call The Chair Doctor at 148 Poplar Hill Road in Turner. You can reach John Leavitt at john@chairdoctormaine.com or call him at 207-225-2293. He takes care of all kinds of furniture including caning, re-upholstery and more.
