AUBURN — This holiday season the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St., celebrates the kindness of others with two film screenings. On Monday, Dec. 3, the library will show the Fred Rogers documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”, to be followed on Monday, Dec. 10, by the documentary “Batkid Begins.” Both films will be shown at 1 p.m. in the Androscoggin Community Room.
“Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” takes a look at America’s neighbor, Mr. Fred Rogers. A portrait of a man we all think we know, this film goes beyond the zip-up cardigans and land of make-believe, and into the heart of Rogers.
“Batkid Begins” profiles the coming together of the world to grant one 5-year-old cancer patient his wish to be Batman for a day. The film explores what happens when an event goes unintentionally viral, and reveals surprising truths about what happens when a nerve is touched in today’s digital society.
