LIVERMORE — Voters on Tuesday adopted a 180-day moratorium on allowing medical marijuana retail stores, dispensaries, testing facilities and manufacturing facilities.

The vote was 570-530.

“It gives us six months’ time for the Planning Board to figure out how and what the town can put into effect,” Selectperson Tom Gould said at a public hearing Oct. 15.

The moratorium ordinance goes into effect immediately. It has no effect on existing businesses.
