AUBURN — Four quarters of at least 20 points, three players in double figures and 13 total scorers added up to a big win, 96-49, for Central Maine CC over Vermont Tech in a YSCC women’s basketball game Sunday at Kirk Hall.

Rebecca Davila scored a career-high 14 points — with her parents in the stands visiting from El Paso, Texas — to pace the Mustangs. Brooke Reynolds added 13 and Eraleena Gethers-Hairston 12 on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting.

CM saw 13 of its 14 players that stepped onto the floor score, though Cagney O’Brien did chip in with four steals, two assists and a defensive rebound in 11 minutes of action.

The Mustangs led by 10 after one quarter, 30 at the half, and pulled even further away with a 28-point third quarter.

Jordanna Morris scored a game-high 19 points for the Knights, to go along with eight steals and six rebounds.

Vermont Tech 93, CMCC 91, 2OT

AUBURN — An Eric Montanez layup with one second left lifted visiting Vermont Tech to a 93-91, double-overtime win over Central Maine CC on Sunday in YSCC men’s hoops action.

Malik Farley’s 3-point try at the buzzer was no good for the Mustangs, who led by 11 at halftime, but were bitten by Tyrone Hilson’s game-tying layup at the buzzer for the Knights to send the game to overtime. Vermont Tech led by as much five twice in the first extra session before CM rallied to send the game to a second OT.

Josh Chery scored a game-high 28 points for CM, and his layup with 45 seconds left gave the Mustangs their last lead. A Trekel Douglas layup with 11 seconds left tied the game 91-91.

Drake Perry led the Knights with 25 points, and Hilson added 24.
