LEWISTON — Geiger recently presented its quarterly Geiger Star Awards to recognize two associates’ efforts to work the values of The Geiger Way.

The associates, by practicing the principles of continuous improvement, embrace fresh and innovative ways to add value to customers and positively contribute to the company’s business.

Gloria Arita has been help desk specialist for nine months. She took on the lead role, working longer hours than usual, when the lead person was out. She worked on improving her troubleshooting skills and learning all she could. Due to the circumstances, she took responsibility for learning several parts of her job on her own, doing her own research, training and problem solving. She demonstrated values of customer satisfaction, leadership and business achievement.

Louise Michaud, executive support and corporate events manager, planned and executed three major events, keeping each at a top level and surpassing previous events. On the Galaxy of Stars, the Galleria and the Geiger Open House celebrations, she made sure every detail was perfectly executed. She has been a mentor to members of her team for years. She always works longer and harder than anyone else and never asks anyone to do more than what she does herself. She exhibits the Geiger Way values of process improvement, leadership and business achievement.
