I hate commercials, but I hate political advertisements even more.
What upsets me so much is that the candidate should be telling us about who they are and reasons to vote for them. But the focus is more about discrediting in any way, fact or fiction, their opponent. That is a waste of everyone’s time and the message ends up confusing, uninformative and counterproductive. And, as if that’s not enough, the public is literally bombarded, ad nauseum, with many viewings of the same message.
What also upsets me is the fact that people really have no way of knowing what fact or fiction is. How can people possibly make an informed decision when they are force-fed lies and exaggerations of one another?
The horrendous amount of money spent in that exercise is sinful.
I submit that the money spent on advertising could solve many worthwhile issues.
