As a veteran, I take issue with Bruce Poliquin’s attacks on the character and commitment of Jared Golden. Golden is the best candidate to represent the 2nd District in the U.S. Congress. As a real resident of the district, he is in touch with residents’ problems and needs. As a war veteran, he has proven the highest level of commitment to his community and country, plus a maturity and experience set that is desperately needed in Washington.

This nation cannot afford Bruce Poliquin any longer. Poliquin has:

• Made the country less secure by voting for an unfunded trillion-dollar tax cut largely benefiting the wealthy and corporations. That tax package is being funded by deeper deficits, increasingly funded by foreign countries.

• By supporting elimination of Obamacare without a credible replacement, he has effectively told all who lack medical coverage that he has no concern for them.
