GREENE — There will be spooky stories and an ice cream social to get people in the Halloween spirit at 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Sawyer Memorial, 371 Sawyer Road, when Maine Author Tim Caverly presents “An Allagash Haunting: The Story of Emile Camile.”

“A damping cloak of darkness approaches; it brings a new meaning to the old saying ‘in the eye of the storm’… travel with a family down the Allagash River as they find themselves canoeing in the dark forest. In the worst storm ever…”

Based on the popular book “An Allagash Haunting” written by Caverly, WHOU-FM radio has professionally adapted the “An Allagash Haunting” play performed by the Houlton Starbright Theatre into an over the air broadcast. Attendees will hear snapping campfires, ghostly music and the call of a loon while they see 120 scenic, wildlife and historic pictures display across screen. Suitable for all ages.

Following the show, there will be an ice cream social hosted by the Sawyer Foundation to celebrate the final Sawyer Memorial program of the 2018 season.

Free admission. FMI: call 207-946-5311, visit sawyer-foundation.com or www.facebook.com/sawyer.foundation1937.
