HALLOWELL — The Harlow, 100 Water St., in partnership with the city of Hallowell, is presenting “The Luthiers’ Craft,” on view through Oct. 14. The public is invited to attend a closing reception from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, including an award ceremony, raffle drawing and live music by Denny Breau.
“The Luthier’s Craft” showcases Maine-made acoustic and electric instruments — both traditional and contemporary in design — as part of the Second Annual Maine Luthiers Exhibition and Music Showcase festival weekend presented by the City of Hallowell. “The Luthiers’ Showcase” at the Harlow is presented in conjunction with Hallowell’s Second Annual Maine Luthiers Exhibition and Music Showcase, a weekend-long event sharing a diverse and accomplished lineup of musicians and stringed instrument makers representing a broad cross section of the state.
More information, an event list and weekend festival passes are available at www.Hallowell.org/luthiers.
Visitors can also view “Life on the Trail,” an exhibition of artwork inspired by the Kennebec River Rail Trail on view in the upstairs gallery through Oct. 27.
The Harlow is a membership based 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to connecting and celebrating art, artists and community in downtown historic Hallowell since 1963. Exhibitions are always free and open to the public. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. For more information visit harlowgallery.org or call 207-622-3813.
