LEWISTON — Dakota Brock Paige, 22, of Lewiston passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, as a result of a car accident. Dakota was born in Lewiston, Oct. 26, 1995, the son of Jeffrey and Kathy Paige. He attended most of his school years in Poland and graduated from Mt. Blue High School in 2014. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Dakota was employed at Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ, where he enjoyed learning various duties and developing new friendships along the way.
Dakota truly lived life to the fullest, through simple pleasures in life. Dakota enjoyed fishing, canoeing, family gatherings, talking and sharing life experiences and most of all debating with his mother and Fred. Dakota loved spending time with his mom and Fred, traveling to the Forts and ghost hunting with the two of them. The highlight to his summer was spending time with his grandfather and preparing for their four-wheeling trips. He would always take the time every year to stop over to visit his grandparents at Range Pond Campground. Dakota was always willing to try new adventures with his father and stepbrothers, whether it be snowmobiling, tubing, riding a dirt bike or cruising around on a golf cart. Dakota enjoyed fishing, hiking and canoeing with his friends.
Dakota had recently traveled to Texas, where he was able to visit Palo Duro Canyon and connect with old high school friends. Dakota had an uncanny ability to reach people in such a positive manner, whether they were longtime acquaintances or a stranger. Dakota was loved by so many. He had an enormous heart that was felt by anyone who had the opportunity of meeting him. He will forever be in our hearts.
He is survived by his mother, Kathy Paige, and Fred Lowell of North Carolina; his father and stepmother, Jeffrey and Holly Paige of Poland; his aunt and uncle, Melissa and Ron Holt of Bowdoin; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Joan Buswell of Litchfield; his grandfather, Bob Durgin, of Litchfield; his stepsisters and brothers, Fred Lowell Jr., Miranda Lowell, Dezerea Madore, Zachery and Gavin Cote; his cousins Abbie Holt, Bruce and Amber Allen; his nieces and nephews, Brayden, Ethan, Ryker Haley, Olivia and Wyatt Lowell.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Patty Durgin, and maternal grandparents, Pete and Hortense Fortin.
The family wishes to express their deepest heartfelt thanks to the gentleman who was first on scene and stayed by Dakota’s side until first responders arrived. We will forever be grateful for your act of kindness.
A social gathering will be held at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Auburn from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.
