LEWISTON — Michelle (Mikki) Bragdon, 75, of Lisbon died Thursday, Oct. 4, at Central Maine Medical Center, after undergoing cardiac surgery. She was born in Franklin on Dec. 27, 1942, a daughter of the late Floyd and Emily Bradbury.
Michelle attended school at Monmouth Academy and studied nursing, working at Augusta General and St. Mary’s Hospital, followed by jobs at Kmart and BIW, before working in the home health care field for Lutheran Social Services, where she retired in 2007.
Michelle married Edwin S. Bragdon Jr. of New Gloucester in 1969, and was widowed in 1989. In 1990, she met her best friend and companion of the last 28 years, Robert E. Bradbury, of Lisbon. Michelle enjoyed time at home with Bob, watching osprey cams online, visiting family, playing slots with friends and watching her beloved Boston Red Sox.
Surviving are her three children: Deanna Leumberger, Mark Bragdon and Jacky Fossett; four grandchildren: Katie, Shawn, Amanda and Joseph; three great-grandchildren: Liam, Bradley and Chloe; her brothers Charlie and Paul; and her sister, Mary.
A remembrance gathering will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St., Lewiston, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association of Maine.
