LISBON FALLS — Donella “Donna” Smith, 72, of Lisbon Falls passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 26, with her children by her side.

She was born in Rumford on Aug. 23, 1946, the youngest daughter of Aubrey and Annie (Sennett) White. Donella grew up in Canton where she graduated as valedictorian of Canton High School and Horseshoe Valley Academy. Following graduation she attended college classes at night and worked as a supervisor for Tambrands and Procter & Gamble for over 30 years before retiring and going to work at Liberty Mutual.

Following her retirement from Liberty Mutual, and not being a fan of the snow, she moved to Florida and enjoyed several years in the sunshine before returning home to Maine in 2018 to bravely face the snow and be closer to her family. She loved spending time at home with her family and friends, having cookouts, cheering on the Patriots, playing bingo and working on word searches. She believed in being a hard worker and that you get out of life what you put in.

She is survived by her son, Troy Smith, and wife, Rebecca, of N.H.; daughter, Lori Smith, of Lisbon Falls; grandchildren, Xavier and Savannah of N.H.; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Predeceasing her and welcoming her into Heaven are her parents; three siblings, Owen White, Dolly Cogley and Dorothy Wentzell; and her love of over 30 years, Jerry Burpee.

Condolences may be shared with Donna’s family at www.crosmanfuneralhome.com.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the funeral home followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Those wishing, in lieu of flowers, may make a charitable contribution in Donna’s memory to SeniorsPlus at www.seniorsplus.org. Arrangements are under the care of Crosman Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services, 40 Main St., Lisbon Falls, 353-4951.
