LIVERMORE — Ormond Gross Jr., 81, a resident of Chesterville, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Sumner on Feb. 4, 1937, the son of Ormand Gross Sr. and Myrtilla (Hannan) Gross. He married Doris Soper of Chesterville on Feb. 20, 1959. Doris passed away in February 1975.

In his younger years he worked at Livermore Falls Shoe Shop, then as a mechanic for Ray Neal, then went into logging. His passion was hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Turcotte, and her husband, Armond; his son, Scott Gross, and his fiancée, Lisa Townsend, his daughter, Crystal Henry, and her husband, Jim, and his stepson, Irving Soper, and his wife, Pam, all of Livermore; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Doris; sisters Florence “Tink” Plog and Thelma Sanford; and brothers Richard and Russell Gross.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Franklin Cemetery, Vienna. Arrangements by Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls.
