TURNER — Lucia P.C. Sheaffer, 96, of Turner passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, following a brief illness. She was born in Vienna, Austria, July 13, 1922, a daughter of the late Baron Sisinio and Baroness Elisabeth (Sommaruga) Pretis-Cagnodo. She grew up at Schwarzenberg Palais, Vienna, Schloss Muhlhof, Austria, and Schloss Bodok, Slovakia. She was educated at Sacre Coeur Pressbaum, Vienna.
In addition to traveling and gardening she cherished many friends and relatives.
Lucia was predeceased by her husband, Lewis John (Jake) Sheaffer.
She is survived by her daughter, Alexandra M. Sutherland, of Tampa, Fla.; a son, John P. Mulford, of Turner; twin grandsons, William and Bryce Sutherland of Reston, Va.; and a brother, Dr. Alexander von Kaan, of Vienna, Austria.
