LIVERMORE FALLS — A local man was charged with distracted driving Wednesday evening after the SUV he was driving hit two parked cars on Park Street, Lt. Joseph Sage said.

Jeromy Merchant, 38, of Livermore Falls was heading south on Park Street, also known as Route 133, when the accident happened at about 6 p.m.

Merchant was looking at his cellphone and hit two parked cars near 93 Park St., Sage said. The cars were owned by Larry Knox of Peru and Maria Rodriguez of Livermore Falls.

No one was injured, Sage said.

The 2007 Chevrolet Equinox that Merchant was driving belonged to his girlfriend, Brianne Lovewell, Sage said.

All three vehicles were badly damaged, he said.
