AUBURN — Roger F. Lanois, a resident of Clover Manor in Auburn, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 27. He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 21, 1935, a son of Wilbrod and Eva (Levasseur) Lanois. He married Pauline G. Morin in 1955.

Roger worked for Lewiston Public Works until 1990. At that time, he semi-retired to Saint Cloud, Fla., where he worked in nursing homes providing housekeeping and maintenance assistance. Roger will always be remembered for his love of fishing, both on the lake and in the ocean. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his children, Sandra Lamontagne, and her husband, Phil, Michael Lanois and his wife, Louise, Debra Pelletier and her husband, Paul, Lisa Vachon and her husband, Maurice, and Jim Lanois and his wife, Kathy. Roger also leaves behind his sister, Claudette (Lanois) Pelletier, as well as six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife, Pauline, and his brothers, Albert and Thomas Lanois.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. in The Chapman Room at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn. Those wishing, in lieu of flowers, may make a charitable contribution in Roger’s memory to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.
