LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen will hold a public hearing Tuesday on whether to study the feasibility of building a fire station in East Livermore.

It will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office.

Residents will be asked in a Nov. 6 referendum to use a maximum $10,000 from the general fund for a study.

Voters in June approved the idea of exploring a new station. 

The town acquired about 3½ acres on Route 106 for unpaid taxes. Town Manager Stephen Gould previously said there is a mobile home, well and septic system on it, but he was not sure of the status of the well and septic system.

He received an estimate of $5,000 to study the parcel, including environmental factors, but wants enough money in case another property needs to be looked at, he said.
