LEWISTON — Local jazz guitar legend John Smedley will be joined by bassist Tim Clough for a free noontime concert from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Church, 247 Bates St.

Smedley, who teaches physics at Bates College, has studied and honed his craft for a few decades, and plays jazz standards and his own compositions with great facility and heart.

This performance is part of the weekly Oasis of Music series, and is free and open to the public, with any donation gratefully accepted.
