DEAR SUN SPOTS: This past July, the Lewiston High School Class of 1958 had their 60th class reunion. My husband was on the committee until he went to the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris so the committee asked me to stay on and help, which I did.

However, I’m sad to say that I lost my husband’s Folio which is full of photos of high school graduates, etc. I thought I had put it on the floor by my feet at a local restaurant then forgot it, but when I contacted the restaurant, I was told it wasn’t there.

If anyone picked up this 1958 LHS Folio, I would appreciate getting it back. Please call 207-783-3097 and I’ll come pick it up. Thank you.

ANSWER: This is a precious possession and I hope it will be returned to you unscathed. Sun Spots is definitely the place to come to if you have lost something. Did you know people have even found long-lost friends by writing to Sun Spots?

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was a school-based speech and language therapist from 1972-2002. I have a large amount of material that would be appropriate for kindergarten through third-grade students; cards, games and books related to the field (including student worksheets). I also have some art supplies (mostly coloring books, markers, crayons and puzzles) suitable for pre-kindergarten students as well as books for young children. If anyone is interested, I’ll give them away on a first come, first serve basis. Please contact Cathy at 207-998-2767 (Poland). Press #1 when the message regarding telemarketers comes on.

ANSWER: This is so generous of you. I know there is someone out there who will be so grateful to be able to benefit children with the use of these materials. Thank you!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m looking for a Creative Memories zipper binder and refill pages. Creative Memories no longer sells this item, but if anyone happens to have one on hand, either new or used, I would be willing to pay a fair price. I’m having trouble finding a good storage binder for my stickers and cut-outs. I’m in the Turner area. Please call at 207-224-2862 if you can help. Thank you, Sun Spots. You are so helpful to so many of us.

ANSWER: If you haven’t already, also look up your item on eBay and Amazon. I looked very quickly as I don’t know the particulars of the binder you would like, but I did see some pre-owned possibilities. If you don’t use the internet, perhaps a friend or neighbor can help.

This is a good time to mention that local high school students may wish to volunteer with helping people with internet searches. Also, some libraries provide computer assistance and even free classes to learn the basics. Don’t be shy about asking for help!
