AUBURN — Central Maine Community College scored a goal in the first and second halves to scrape by Unity College 2-1 in women’s soccer on Tuesday.
In the first half, Delia Schreiber scored to give the Mustangs (4-2) a 1-0 lead off an assist from Samantha Belardo. Belardo scored a much-needed goal in the second half.
Jordan Baker of Unity (1-3) also scored in the second half. CMCC out-shot Unity 11-9 and also had four corners compared to Unity’s three.
CMCC goalkeeper Ali Sult saved eight shots, while Sarah Cantwell saved nine in the loss.

AUBURN — Central Maine Community College escaped with a tight 1-0 win over Unity college Tuesday in a men’s soccer game.
Brian Mendez received a pass in the first half from Kenneth Ball to score the game’s only goal and give CMCC its fifth win of the season. A big reason for the Mustangs’ strong play was defender Guerby Dorvil, who was the anchor of the back line.
Dalton Wing made two saves for CMCC (5-1) while Sam Napper made 10 saves for Unity (1-2).
College field hockey
Colby 9, UMF 1
WATERVILLE — Myri Skodock, Eleanor Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Brashich each scored twice during to help Colby (3-2) defeat UM-Farmington (1-4).
Skodock’s two goals helped the Mules build a 5-0 lead at the half, with Georgia Cassidy adding a goal and an assist.
Fitzgerald then buried two goals during the first two minutes of the second half, before Brashich added another two.
Delaney Keithley and Eliza Mell also scored, and goalie Riley Whitmyer stopped the only shot she faced.
