AUBURN — Olivia Roth scored in the first half to lead Edward Little to a 3-0 shutout over Lewiston in field hockey action Thursday.
The Red Eddies (3-0) put two more markers on the board in the second half with tallies from Emma Allen, on a penalty stroke, and Miranda Chadbourne.
Goalie Ashley Cronkhite made 13 saves for the Blue Devils (0-5), while Elise Syphers turned back three to earn the win in net for Edward Little.
Leavitt 2, Oceanside 0
ROCKLAND — Kayla Leclerc scored with three minutes remaining in the first half as Leavitt stung Oceanside 2-0 in field hockey action Thursday afternoon.
The Hornets (2-2) dominated the game, but struggled with converting on opportunities. Leclerc scored her second goal of the game five minutes into the second on a pass from Ginny Twitchell.
Mallory Casey earned the win in goal for Leavitt.
Boys’ soccer
Monmouth 7, Carrabec 0
MONMOUTH — For the second time in four days, the Mustangs handled the Cobras by an identical 7-0 score Thursday.
Hayden Fletcher, Gabe Martin and Seth McKenney each scored two goals for Monmouth (5-2). Thomas Neal also scored and Cam Armstrong tallied two assists.
Carrabec drops to 0-5.
NYA 4, Buckfield 2
BUCKFIELD — The Panthers (5-0) used a 2-0 second-half advantage to pull away to defeat the Bucks (2-2) 4-2 in Thursday’s boys’ soccer matchup.
Ryan Baker, Xander Kostelnik, Alaisdar Swett and Charles Rhode scored for NYA. Julian Etauri and Miles Chapman combined for four saves.
Rick Kraske had 16 saves for Buckfield.
Waynflete 2, Gray-New Gloucester 2, tie
GRAY — Ian McClure-Chute and Aidan Kieffer chipped in two first-half goals for Waynflete, and Jake Kackmeister and Nick Pelletier added two in the second half as the Flyers (2-0-1) and Patriots (0-2-1) tied at Gray.
McClure-Chute scored 40 seconds into the game from 35 yards out, and Kieffer bent a corner kick directly into the net.
Kackmeister scored off a penalty kick for Gray, and Nick Pelletier beat a defender to score from inside the box.
Luca Antolini made six saves for Waynflete, and Brannon Gilbert made 14 saves for Gray-New Gloucester.
Girls’ soccer
Cape Elizabeth 3, Gray-New Gloucester 0
CAPE ELIZABETH — Prezli Piscopo assisted on all three goals for the Capers (5-0) against Gray-New Gloucester (2-3) at Cape Elizabeth.
Grace Gillian, Laura Ryer and Maggie Cochran scored.
Mountain Valley 5, Dirigo 0
RUMFORD — Saydie Garbarini scored a goal and an assist as Mountain Valley cruised to a 5-0 victory over Dirigo in girls’ soccer action Thursday.
Alice LeDuc, Kylee Pelletier and Courtney Therrien helped the Falcons collect three goals in the first half.
Goalkeeper Katherine Morse made nine saves for the Cougars, while Taylor Henry repelled eight for Mountain Valley in the winning effort.
Oak Hill 4, Boothbay 2
WALES — Eliza Whisenant found the back of the net on two occasions as Oak Hill doubled up Boothbay 4-2 in girls’ soccer action Thursday.
The Raiders (3-1) led 3-0 at the half. Macie Fletcher and Emily Dillman rounded out the scoring for Oak Hill.
Goalie Emillie Crocker made 17 saves for the Seahawks (3-1), while Paige Gonya defended three to earn the win in net for Oak Hill.
Poland 4, Wells 2
POLAND — Leya Harvey produced two goals and an assist to lead the Poland girls’ soccer team to a 4-2 victory over Wells on Thursday.
The Knights (2-3) and Warriors (1-2) were tied 2-2 at the half. Hannah St. Hilaire contributed a pair of assists for Poland.
Goalie Lauren Bartlett made seven saves for Wells, and Gabrielle Bolduc prevented nine to earn the win in net for Poland.
Winthrop 4, Telstar 1
BETHEL — Hannah Eason scored twice to lift the visiting Ramblers to the MVC girls’ soccer win Thursday.
Jillian Schmelzer and Aaliyah WilsonFalcone contributed a goal apiece for Winthrop (4-1-0). Brooke Burnham made six saves.
